I'm a "special
needs" kitty
looking for a home!

Hi! I'm
Olivia! I'm an
extra special cat
with an extra
special condition.
Unfortunately my
front legs don't
work properly.
I was either born
this way or I fell
and damaged my front
legs. As far
as the vet can tell,
I'm not in any pain
right now and I seem
to get along just
fine! I'm an 8
month old female who
is super sweet and
I'm looking for a
family who will love
me as I am! To
learn more about me
please call the
shelter at 483.6700.

April 16 the shelter
will be open

from 12-4.
Please make a note!

A New Home for
Redeemable Bottles
and Cans!

Thanks to generous
folks in our
community, we now
have a new, dry and
secure location for
supporters to drop
off redeemable
bottles and cans!
GE
Volunteers
and 4
handy RCHS volunteers
made it a reality for us.
So drop off your
redeemable bottles
and cans and help
the animals!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We're running out
of space!
People have been so
generous we've
currently run out of
space to store
donated newspapers
and bedding!
As a result, we're
not able to accept
any at this time.
Thanks for your
understanding!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And then there
was one!

Hello! I'm Trinity.
I'm happy to report
that my friend,
Alice, who was at
RCHS almost as long
as I have been, was
adopted! I'm
so happy for her!
But now I hope it's
my turn. I've
been at
RCHS looking for new
home for almost a
year now!
That's a really long
time for a terrific
feline like me!
I'm lucky because I can stay as long
as I want but I'm ready to get
adopted! So if
you're looking for
a super duper feline
please stop by and
meet me. I'm
all packed and ready
to be adopted!

Kitten Supplies
We are expecting
over 400 kittens to
arrive at our
shelter this Spring
and Summer! Thanks
to so many of you
who dropped off
supplies for our
incoming bundles of
joy!
Throughout the
Spring and Summer we
will happily accept
donations. Your gifts
will help us provide
around-the-clock
care that will be
needed not only in
our shelter, but
while the kittens
are in foster care.
Your generosity will
allow these little
ones to grow strong
and healthy so they
can be placed in
forever homes.
Items our kittens
need include:
formula (KMR, new
born), nursing
bottles, heating
pads or rice pads,
kitten food, litter
pans, food
dishes, cat
toys, baby blankets and
flea shampoo for
kittens.
If
you have any
questions please
contact the shelter
at 483.6700.

it’s time to find homes for them. Let the Rutland County Humane
Society help! Our program is simple and free: If you’re a
Rutland County resident, you can bring your mom cat or dog and her
kittens or puppies to us at no charge. In exchange, the Humane Society

kittens and puppies will be adopted into loving new homes after being spayed
and neutered. Please help spread the word if you know of a
female cat or dog with kittens or puppies! For more information, please call the
shelter at 802.483.6700.

RCHS Supports
Trap-Neuter-Return
for Feral Cat
Population Control
Rutland County has a
large population of
feral cats.
Feral cats are "unsocialized
cats who may be one
or more generations
removed from a home
environment and may
live in a group, or
colony, of similar
cats. These
cats and their
offspring are
victims of
abandonment,
accidental loss, and
failure by owners to
sterilize their
pets".
For more information
on TNR, please
call our "Stray,
Barn & Feral cat
line" at
483.9171 or
send
us an e-mail.

Do you have stray or
feral cats
on your property?
If so, RCHS has some
nuisance prevention
tips you can use.

To help the animals
in our care minimize
stress-related
digestive problems,
we have partnered
with Hill's Science
Diet to feed our
dogs and cats only
Science Diet dry
food. This
will ensure a
high-quality,
consistent diet
while they are at
RCHS and we
recommend it to our
adopters. The
program provides the
food for free which
is another benefit!
